Supply Chain & Pricing Update | Senita Athletics

Supply Chain & Pricing Update

The last couple of years have been a wild ride. 2020 started out in ways no one could have imagined. A life altering pandemic shaped our lives and perspectives making us reflect and cherish things at Senita and within our community - like in-person events!

Throughout 2020 and 2021, we’ve experienced a series of highs and lows as a small online business. First, an influx of demand brought with it some unique, but exciting, challenges. Starting in the fall of this year, we began to restock the shelves to fully adjust. This would not have been possible without your support, which has been both humbling and exhilarating to grow with you in ways we never dreamed.

Fast forward to today, we are facing new challenges -- specifically in our supply chain. This has resulted in uncertain supply as the logistics chain is stretched to its breaking point through a lingering pandemic, uncertain power supplies, limited international commercial airline activity (critical for shipping by air), and congested ports due to shutdowns and hiring difficulties. Furthermore, price increases have occurred across many aspects of our business, from the high-quality fabrics we source to a 5-10x increase in shipping (not a typo).

We are all likely encountering these challenges in many aspects of our lives from our careers to our experiences when shopping with and purchasing from other (non-athleticwear, of course!) retailers. That said, there are a couple of changes we want you to be aware of.

 (1) Supply Chain
By the day, it is becoming more and more difficult to both manufacture and, coordinate the arrival of, new products and collections through the bottlenecks that continue to intensify within our supply chain.  This means we are expecting to have more limited supply in upcoming collections and restocks. This is likely to result in more stockouts than we would like as we go through the holiday season. Right now, we are hoping we will be able to move forward with our launches according to plan…. we just may not have as much product as we would have liked. As always, we will work to communicate updates with you as we have them.

(2) Pricing
We have shouldered the increasing cost burden by keeping prices stable for as long as we can in the hopes that there would be a normalization to prior levels. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Therefore, we are going to be raising prices on certain products across the site and raising the free shipping threshold to $75, beginning November 1stOur goal is to limit average increases to $3 - $4 per product.

As always, we are fully committed to designing and sourcing the highest quality activewear at a fair and affordable price point. We're proud of what we have been able to bring to the market as a small business that has been able to grow a community of incredible, strong women that empower one another (and us) to continually strive to achieve the lofty goals we have set and to pick us up when things don't go as we hoped.

We will continue to be transparent about the happenings in our Senita family and thank you for your support.

Love always,

P.S. There will be no changes to our loyalty program, which will continue to yield the great benefits many of you have come to enjoy. Furthermore, we are still planning for an unparalleled Black Friday Week with many exciting new releases and discounts that we can’t wait to share with you!

P.P.S. If you have any questions about the upcoming changes, please reach out to us at
