I'm an avid ultramarathon runner and was very disappointed in workout leggings I got from a major maternity retailer. Since that retailer specializes in maternity wear, I was dismayed that my pregnant running journey would be one full of chafing and discomfort. Then I saw a Senita advertisement on the 'gram and decided to test out a few items. Let me tell you...best decision EVER! This pair of leggings has gotten me through many many miles, chafe-free. These leggings are just as comfortable and good for running as my expensive brand name running-specific leggings! They stay in place, and the belly panel is nice and supportive without being restrictive. When I'm lounging around the house, I keep the belly panel all the way up and it doesn't feel restrictive at all, even when I am hardcore relaxing on the couch. When I go for a run, I usually flip the panel down below the belly, and it provide a little bit of extra support for the weight. I find that flipping the belly panel down when running reduces my round ligament pain a lot. When doing other workouts, I keep the belly panel fully up, and the leggings stay in place perfectly. I use the side pocket for my phone and my key when I run. I have an iPhone X in a very large otterbox case, and it fits perfectly in the pocket. It doesn't move around or chafe at all while running. I originally bought these in the gray, and decided to treat myself to a second pair - the blue leggings. I sweat a lot, so was worried about both colors showing my sweat. Good news for my fellow sweaty ladies - neither the gray nor the blue shows sweat! I was very pleasantly surprised at this. For reference, I ordered a medium. I am 5'5" and was a very thick-thighed and well-muscled 160 lbs pre-pregnancy. I'm currently ~180 lbs at week 26. I think the mediums will last me size-wise through the rest of the pregnancy.
I love the material. They are not see through, great quality and the material that covers my bump is perfect. I bought these in black too!
I was really happy to find maternity workout pants and followed Senita on a recommendation I found online. The pants fit well statically, but when I’m moving around doing cardio or lifting, they often require readjustment (specifically the back rides down). This may be because I’m only 20 weeks at this point. The pants appear to fit in all other regions (thighs, legs, butt, etc.). I’m hoping they later into my pregnancy they will fit a bit better.
I’m 29 weeks, 5’ 4” and was 139lbs before getting pregnant. I ordered a medium and it’s tight, but in a good “hold you in” sort of way. I ran in these and felt like they held up my belly and were supportive through the run. Don’t know how they will fit throughout the rest of the trimester...but works for now. I do feel like the elastic is a little sensitive and could hear it slightly ripping when I pulled them on, and no idea how my phone is suppose to fit in that pocket but works if you are looking for supportive leggings for more intense work outs
Love this maternity leggings! They are seriously my favorite to work out in. I work out 4-5 times a week so I’ bought 2 pairs. I tried for a while to stick to non-maternity because I thought I could just manage. Nope! Belly bump thought otherwise. Entering week 25, I highly recommend!
